Guess who can drive now????
Yep, I got permission to drive again last week and I am keeping the roads hot. My first trip to the grocery store by myself was a little scary but then on Tuesday I was off to Lafayette to help Sarah clean Amanda's house. Wow, freedom.

No Photos Yet

I have to post that I have a new grandson. Born August 2, at 5:58 PM weighed 8-12 and was 22 inches long. Both mom and son are doing great. Larry and I have Bennett who is sick. Sarah took him to the doctor today and they think he has a sinus infection. He is on an antibiotic.

Second, a funny story (I want to beat Sarah to the story).
In our church the men usually wear white shirts and most wear suits. The bishop of the ward the girls go to was at the youth activity that Sarah was in charge of. Landon walked up to him and said, "Are you the bishop at our church?" Bishop Gibb replied that he was indeed to which Landon said, "Hey, where'd you get those clothes?" Bishop Gibb was in jeans and a nice respectable shirt but it wasn't the usual suit Landon was accustomed to. Funny Landon!

New Family Photo 09

The family all got together! This is becoming less and less frequent as the kids get older and the family gets bigger. Whenever I look at this photo, I could almost bust with pride. I have wonderful kids, great son-in-laws, perfect grandchildren and a husband that has stuck with me for over 30 years now. What more could I ask for? The sad thing is that this photo will only be current until August 8 when Amanda will deliver her fourth child.

New Landscaping

One of Larry's clients owed him quite a bit of money and couldn't pay so, being that they are a landscaping company, they did some work around the house for us to pay us. I should have done before and after, but, of course, I am not that organized.

This is our front yard, picture taken from our front porch.

Front flower beds, taken from the front porch.

The patio. There use to be a fish pond and tall Elephant Grass by the bird feeder.

By the back door.

This picture was taken from the back door.

The new patio in which to sit on when we watch the grandkids play in the 'fort' and on the trampoline. The fire pit will be nice to roast marshmallows.

What do you think Casey?

My Last Mission Post

Being that we only have two weeks until we fly out to pick up our missionary, I was glad that I got a couple of photos today so I could have one last post about this cute missionary.

James is the one in the middle :)

James is the one on the far left and he was bragging about the 'air' he was getting in this picture. He hasn't changed a bit!

Long Over-due Update

Here is what is happening in our simple little lives. For my 50th birthday, I decided to spend a few days in the hospital. I ended up with Viral Meningitis. As if that wasn't enough, I have been home, unable to drive for the past two weeks fighting the insurance company! Can I just say how much I HATE insurance. You can't be without it but ....... I saw a Neurologist in the hospital. I liked him. He ordered my meds for seizures, brain scans, etc. Of course, now, I can't see him because he isn't a "Provider". My doctor doesn't want me to see the only neurologist in Southern Indiana that is a "Provider." I will be playing Russian Roulette with a Neurologist. BLAH!~~

Larry is working his first full week of the year. That is both good and bad. Good because we need the money, bad because that leaves me home alone all week and most evenings. Next week should be better...... Plus~ Amanda and her kids are coming to keep me company this weekend. YEAH!!

Each day I feel a little better, clean a little, nap a little, watch too much TV, and check my email.

The guys are coming today to put in the new pool liner. I am not sure I will be able to swim this year, depending on how long I am on seizure meds. We are also having some yard work done but they are slower than me!!

So, all is back to normal in the Porter household for now. Spring is here, and I am putting in some strawberry plants!!! and a garden~!
