Hannah
Hannah, Cody, and Julia
The proud parents.
Kisses all around.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
She really didn't want to go to Prom but did it for me and Jessica. I made her dress, Jessica fixed her hair and did her makeup and they went out together and got their nails done.

Christmas is almost here

I have been madly making bags for the family.  I claim it is to be 'green' and not kill all those trees but actually, I just don't want to sit and wrap all those small presents.  So, this year, I added an Elmer Bag (for the adults) a Harward Bag and a Porter Bag (Brad and Jessica).  I think they are cute.
Three or four years ago, I started this with bags for the grandkids.  They love the idea and since it is a hit with them, everyone is getting them.
New Tradition this year:  I have decorated the tree with kids movies!  The grandkids can pick one off each evening to watch together (yes, I am hoping for a little quiet time).
Me and my BFF.  I love this girl.  This is before church on Sunday.  She is the absolute best teenager I know.  I am so very grateful for her.

This cute picture is from Thanksgiving.  My sister was there so this picture is my 9 grandkids and my two nieces.

Speaking of nieces, I got to go to Ohio in November to be with my sister when she had her new baby, Ashlyn.  They are coming for Christmas so hopefully I will get to hold her lots!!

Our Spring and Summer (aka Catch-up)

We had a few backyard activities.  I love these!!  Friends and food....
Spring Break trip to Texas where Grandma taught Hannah some quilting tips.  Hannah loved this but has only sewn a few times since.  Hopefully, she will get started again.
The first house Larry and I bought.  3213 Edgewood Drive, Killen, Texas.  We loved that home.
Trip to Lafayette for Addie's Grandparents Day at school.  I love being a Nana.  It is absolutely the best thing about life.
Maya was baptized in May.  What a beautiful little girl.
 Dog Pile On GRAMPY!!!
Took a trip to Niagra Falls, Palmyra, New York and Kirtland (while Hannah was at EFY for a  week)
The Sacred Grove.  Might have been my favorite place on earth.
 This is Palmyra.
 and Niagra Falls
Funny thing happened on the way to EFY.  This Amish guy cracked us up!
End of the school year pedicure.
I quilted a few quilts over the summer.  This one was for a friend.  She pieced it (beautiful) and I practiced my long-arm quilting techniques.
I got to see my sister and my cute nieces a few times.  Family is so important to me.
At a REDS game for my sister's anniversary.
The handsome guy I am married to.  He is the best.
Excitement for Time Out For Women.
Or as Sarah calls it, A once a year weekend of bliss (or something like that).
Grandkids all came in for Labor Day.  Grampy treated to Orange Leaf.  It was a huge hit.
 My nieces, the little Fuggers.
I made a trip or two to Columbus.  This one was for Miles to have his tonsils out.  How cute is a little kid in a hospital gown?  Love it!

I love this girl.  We are good friends.  She is great!

This is for the girls.  I took your advice and made the shelves straight across.  Finally got the rest of the frames today.  Let me know what you think.  I think it looks a little crowded but then again we have a big family.  I hope you can recognize some of the photos.

The last week of events

Hannah and I have been hooked on this type of delicious salad.  I found a great recipe for a homemade poppyseed dressing and it is great (I like sweet dressings).  The salad is mixed greens, sliced strawberries, pecans, bacon bits and dressing.  The dressing recipe is:  3/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup cider vinegar, 4 1/2 t. grated onion, 3 t. ground mustard (I put 1 1/2 t. yellow mustard or a little less), 1 t. poppy seeds
1/2 t. salt.  Mix and then wisk in 1 cup oil.  This stores well.
Hannah's room.  We painted it a few months ago.  I think the color is a little bold but Hannah loves it.  She picked out fabric several months ago for a duvet cover.  The new quilting machine gave me the desire to get it done.  It is bold but Hannah loves it.  I pieced this crazy thing from a Pottery Barn Teen quilt that she loved.  I 'quilted' it without quilt batting to give the duvet cover a little substance (I only quilted the bold pieces).  Then sewed it to a sheet, put a zipper in the end and stuffed the duvet inside.  She is so happy.  I have to finish the curtains now and make a few pillows.
What to quilt on next????
